Ancient aristocratic castle This beautiful 17th-century castle, designed by the architect Chevalier, is located north of Turin, in the hills leading to Ivrea, in Piedmont. The castle is surrounded by an ancient village and large green areas covering an area of 2,960 square meters. This unique castle, which belonged to the noble families of Savoy and Monferrato, is made up of three floors and is wonderfully complemented by a 2-hectare park with tall trees and stables for horses. The castle is located on the southern summit of the hill of the moraine amphitheater of Ivrea and has a long history, probably dating back to the 12th century. Over the centuries, it changed hands among noble families, suffered fires and looting. In the 19th century, Count Alexandre Compans of Brisanto initiated major transformations, completed in 1925 by the architect Chevalier. He rebuilt the castle, adding a tower, loggia and vestibule, as well as orangeries and heraldic decorations. The castle offers 2,500 square meters of space, including a large reception hall, a stately living room, a library, a dining room, a kitchen, two bedrooms and bathrooms. Ref: 11362
